Summer Learning Journey - summer activities

Today on the summer learning journey we had to do what we liked best to do in the summer
have a look↓

I  like going to Rotorua and making a hut
and playing with my dogs.

I like being outside to play because I can play with my cousins and I make huts, explore and have fun.

  1. Kia ora Erana,

Happy New Year and welcome to the Summer Learning Journey. It looks like you have been busy over the holidays and the Summer Learning Journey team has been busy responding to your activities. My name is Megan, you may remember me coming into your school at the end of last year to introduce you to the Summer Learning Journey. I had fun visiting Waikowhai Primary School and doing activities with you all.

It looks like you have fun over the summer. I also love making huts outside in the summer. My mum and I used to make huts out of bracken when we would visit her caravan in Scotland. Bracken is similar to fern here in New Zealand, however, they are thick and the best to make huts with. What do you make your huts with? Maybe you could share a picture and I will try and make a hut with my son, Nico.

Do you have family that you visit down in Rotorua? I lived in Taupo for a number of years, so we would visit Rotorua regularly to go to swimming competitions at the Rotorua Aquatic Centre. My family and I would always visit the Redwoods and go exploring through the forest. I have been meaning to return and visit the Redwoods Treewalk. Have you been on this walk before?

I am excited to read the other 6 activities that you have completed. Keep up the awesome work, Erana.

    Kindest regards,
    Megan :)
