Code avengers!!!!πŸ§‘‍πŸ’»

 Kia Ora bloggers!

Have you ever heard or done Code Avengers?

Well the past week we have been doing it for our online work. Code avengers is a website that has projects that you can do and earn badges and certificates throughout the projects. You learn about algorithms and flowcharts. Do you know what algorithms and flowcharts are? In the projects it is broken into 10 sections. You have to sign into Code Avengers but it is fun. Some of the tasks are easy others aren't. You and your teacher can see you progress. You ca have a look at some pictures Below πŸ‘‡

✍🏾WRITING ✍🏾

Mālō e lelei,

Happy Tongan language week

In writing this week we have been focusing on food. Healthy food in particular. But this task I am going to show is different it is more art. We had to create a creature from our own names and write a description all about it. Then we made a holiday brochure that makes the reader come visit your pretend place. I drew my own name creature on baking paper as you will see it suggested on the first slide. The second slide is my one that you can have a look at. Some things about my place is that it is a planet called Star Village. The planet is famous for its singers, Food forest and beds ( they like their sleep ). Take a look at the slides belowπŸ‘‡

STEM week Waikowhai student led toolkits

πŸ’»Waikowhai Student Led ToolkitsπŸ’»

Kia ora bloggers

Last week on Friday the middles and seniors at my school did our own student led toolkits. The reason being that it was STEM week last week. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and lastly Mathematics. In the toolkits there were two awesome presenters out of 24 and you could choose out of 12 different toolkits. A toolkit is where you are either an attendee or presenter. I was a presenter so I could only choose one other one. The things you could choose were. Music lab (which I was presenting), Spheros, Webcam toy, Google maps, Book creator, Word art, Drones, Makey Makey, Brain box, Piskel, Incredibox and slide animation.

Toolkit 1: Piskel

First of all do you know what Piskel is?  If you don't you should try it out it is really fun. Piskel is basically doing pixel art on an app that you can find on google. In the website you can change the colour of the pen that you use to fill in the different pixels on the screen. You can make a thing that is kind of like an animation and it moves or you can just make a normal picture. I went with my friends and we had fun on piskel. Here is the link: http://piskelapp.com/

Amount of people supposed to be there: 13

Here are some photos

It moves

Toolkit 2: Music Lab (My one and my buddy Paityn's one)

Amount of people:18

First we introduced ourselves and then we told them all about it. Then we taught them how to use it. Talked to them about some of the different types of things to use to make music. Here is the link to Music lab: https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Experiments

Some of the things you can do are shared piano where you send a link to somebody from the music lab site and play piano with your friends.

Here are some photos

Toolkit 3: Music Lab (again)

I think that the first one was better because I think it was pure luck but it wasn't to bad. It was basically the same as the first one.

Amount of people:17

Here are some photos

I think that if we got to do it another time I would choose to be an attendee instead of a presenter. It was kind of funny to see all the senior and middles running around in the seniors. It was a fun and interesting way to learn about different things on your chromebook.

Under the wires

 Under The Wires

Yesterday it was a fun full day. Mostly. So where to start first you know how it was raining yesterday well we weren't allowed to go inside until like 8:48 and we start at 9:00. Anyway when we went inside the rooms Hauraki and Waitemata were cover with string with a little space underneath. and you might have guessed we had to crawl underneath them and find a space. We still did learning but it was all around the wars. Some of the activities were picture dictation, To find how many years between the different wars, Acrostic poems and "writing letters" to our "family" from "war". Oh and I forgot to mention that probably all of us got carpet burn. You know from crawling around on the carpet all day. We got to go for morning tea and lunch but like I said it was raining that day so we had to eat inside under the wires it was so fun cause the teachers were shooting us with fake guns. Anyway check out the pics I put below in a slideshow.

Slip' n Slide

 Kamusta Bloggers

Woosh I went whizzing down the hill!

Yesterday at school we went for a swim and on a water slide!

First the teachers split us into groups and I was in the group that went swimming first. The other group would go on the slide. Splash the water was nice and cold when I went under. We played around until the teacher said it was our turn to go to the water slide/slip' n slide. Me and my friends were so excited to go on the slide. At our school we have a steep hill and sometimes like on family fun day we have it out. We listened to the rules they were really simple and then we could go have a go. First  we had to go by yourself then we had the choice to go with somebody. I loved it. But it wasent finished I mean the fun. Turns out we could swim again at lunch time play you had the choice. I choose to stay and swim. After that was done we went to have to lunch. Thats all for today bloggers. Here are some photos. Ops forgot to post this from last year anyway it was the same one from my family fun day blog post. Blog ya later.

Lockdown Take 4

Lockdown Take 4

This most recent lockdown I did a video with my brother with inspiration from my friend. We all know covid is the cause of lockdown. For NZ it is our fourth lockdown as you can see in the title. The video I did with my brother was like a trick video kind of like a magic trick. It did take a little while but only three minutes. My brother has an editing app on his phone that he used to make the video one video. My friend made a slightly different type of vid. It is quite short but cool. Anyway all this writing. about it if you want it is down below. Take a look. πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

Also the slideshow I put my work onto is my lockdown creations and like I said it is where I put all my work I did for the different days. We had to add a caption of what we did and if it was had or not also we had to do a link to the piece of work if you could. You might remember something like this from the previous lockdowns. Below you can check it out. πŸ‘‡

Netball at school πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

Kia Ora readers

Welcome to 2021

For the last two Wednesday's my class has been learning about netball. We learnt the three main netball passes, the bounce pass, the chest pass and the overhead pass. We played some games that helped us practice our netball skills. The games were Infinity tag, In the river on the bank and netball passing relays. Our coaches names were Josina and Olivia. Some of the things we did to warm up our bodies was squats, side shuffles, fast feet, bum kicks and sprints. I also signed up for netball at school because I love it. I think it is one of my favourite sports. I can't wait for more netball.

Christmas art

Bonjour Bloggers

Through the past three days so far we have been doing some fun Christmas art decorations. Some of the crafts that we have learnt are the dot art piece. Maths art Y axis and X axis Christmas cards. Heart weaving basket. In the  maths art Y axis and X axis Christmas cards you used maths and art. You colour the boxes with  different colours to make a picture to stick on a card and wright a message and give it to somebody. It is hard to explain the heart weaving basket. The dot art we had to put card under the paper with dots on them and start poking with a pin. Thats all today Blog ya later. Here are some pics.

Bike skills

 Kia ora bloggers

Yesterday my class went to bike skills. The coaches names are Rachelle and Holly. They learnt about safety with riding bikes on the road. They learnt how to check the brakes, play the box game and much more. I think that this is a good way to learn about bike skills and how to ride a bike because it is a new way to travel and it is less pollution. Also I think that it is a good way to gain some independence. Some of the games that the class played were red light green light, Bean bag relays, box game, head shoulders knees and toes and probably more fun games. Something that my class found challenging was riding on the field/grass. Another thing that my class learnt was signals. Like the main thing in skateboarding (I think that it is harder in skateboarding) is balance. The only bad thing was that I wasn't there. Aloha Bloggers see you next time!

Skateboarding

 Talofa Lava blogger

Whizz I watched as somebody zoomed past me!

Today we have been doing skateboarding. This is not my first time I have tried it before at school. We got all our gear which was a skateboard and a helmet. I learnt so many more things that I did not know before like the crab walk and 180 degree flip and that the front is called the nose and the back is called the tail. I think that the crab walk is easy on the grass but challenging on the concrete. All you do is put pressure on the tail and then while on the tail do the same for the nose. After that you "walk" like that in a zig zag. You need to be positive and confident when you are trying new things like skateboarding. I also think that focus is another key to skateboarding. We had two coaches, their names were Ben and Lawrence. I think that the main thing in skateboarding is balance. I have some balance but I am not great. But it is great exercise. Overall I think it was quite fun and enjoyable and I got to do it with some of my friends. Blog ya later

Production 2020 Jasmine and Aladdin

 Kia ora bloggers

Hi bloggers do you rember my other blog post about production rehearsals? Well since then have done all our three productions (the actual show!!). Anyway it was the best experience and it felt so AWESOME. It was held in the Waikowhai Intermediate hall. I loved it. The show was awesome I loved watching my friends doing their parts. The show was called Jasmine and  Aladdin. There were three shows. Two in the night (on Wednesday and Thursday) and one in the day (Friday). I felt really nervous when I did all of the shows because I was in five scenes and I was one of the palace guards out of eight (We all had to get moustaches). There were 9 dances including the finale. The songs were Walk like a camel, Cha Cha Slide, Shopping, Cups, Roar, Magic Carpet Ride, Wipe out and the last and finale was R.E.S.P.E.C.T. My favourite part was when I got to be on stage and I had to get up and down and up and down and you know what I mean. Above all I loved it. Here are some photos and a video. Blog ya later.

Wonder Project

Wonder project

Three, Two, One...blast off! In the seniors we have been doing a thing called the Wonder Project. We had an ambassador called Sihang. The Wonder Project is a project were you learn about all the things you need to make a rocket that we could eventually blast off. When we first started making our rocket it still needed heaps of work. We still needed a bottle! We found one and started to make a rocket to blast off.

Finally the day had come to blast our test rocket off. Our rocket needed a bit more work so when we had another session we finished. Yesterday we launched our real rocket it was so cool. Here is a photo of what the Wonder Project is!

❤Matariki activitiesπŸ’•

Talofa Lava Blogger

On Thursday Waikowhai Primary did rotations about Matariki or activities that relates to Matariki. We took part in three rotations as a class and the first one was with our own teachers.....

In my class our first rotaton was in our class and the activitie there was to make Maori kites. But they don't actually fly sadly but you had a choice to make a frame and use the hot glue gun. Or just draw patterns and then the peolple that were making the frames (wich was me) glue the patterns on the frame in groups of three. Then we had to move on to our second rotation Fried bread.....

Yas Yas Yas I love Fried bread I love having the fried that my dad makes at home. I couldn't wait. First we got into groups and
we had turns mixing water and self rasing flour and then those were the only ingrediants and you knead it and cut it up and then fry it and eat it. We got to put different toppings on it. ten last but not least stop animation......

All we do was make characters and props with playdough and clay. Then you start making an animation.

Cross country 2020😴😎

Kia ora
This week we did cross country and I came dun dun duuun SECOND!   for the year 5 girlsπŸ‘πŸ‘ (aplause) anyway I was so tired and now I am going to tell you about the day. The activities we did were handball, a relaxing station, tennis, a blind fold game, cheering/ duck duck goose and of course running. I think that my favourite activity was hand ball because one of my friends was being so funny. The one I didn't like that much was running cause I got soooo tired. My buddy in the blind fold game was one of my BFFs Arielle. At the relaxing station they had heaps of fun games. At the end of the day I went to swimming for an hour then to the mall with my mum and dad. Blog ya later.πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹

Reading week 10

πŸ“—Reading ActivitiesπŸ“—

For reading this week I did an activitie through Readworks. Do you know what Readworks is? Readworks is a place where your teacher picks a story and made questions and you have to compleat the tasks. THis week I was given a choice and I chose the readworks that week for my group. It is called Winning the Vote  I liked it because the text was short and I got all the answers right.

Toolkits/presenting/viewing

Kia Ora Bloggers
Yesterday the 18th of June I attended and presented at the toolkits for Ako Hiko. I  think the toolkits were amazing. I presented with one of my best friends called Chrystelle. We chose Audiobooks to present to other schools throughuot Ako Hiko. We had to introduce oursevfes and tell them a little bit about the topic and then it was sandpit time where you could explore. We did all of this on google meet. I liked looking at other peoples slides on google meet. I learnt how to play and make music on incredibox and really enjoyed the last session when somebody taught some people how to make a digital portrait. I don't think there were any things to improve about the toolkit yesterday.
Here are the links to my slideshow and the other peoples slideshows that I attended and images of me and my buddy.
