Skateboarding

 Talofa Lava blogger

Whizz I watched as somebody zoomed past me!

Today we have been doing skateboarding. This is not my first time I have tried it before at school. We got all our gear which was a skateboard and a helmet. I learnt so many more things that I did not know before like the crab walk and 180 degree flip and that the front is called the nose and the back is called the tail. I think that the crab walk is easy on the grass but challenging on the concrete. All you do is put pressure on the tail and then while on the tail do the same for the nose. After that you "walk" like that in a zig zag. You need to be positive and confident when you are trying new things like skateboarding. I also think that focus is another key to skateboarding. We had two coaches, their names were Ben and Lawrence. I think that the main thing in skateboarding is balance. I have some balance but I am not great. But it is great exercise. Overall I think it was quite fun and enjoyable and I got to do it with some of my friends. Blog ya later

I enjoyed reading about the names of things you have learnt through skateboarding at school. In one of the photos you look like you are concentrating really hard. I'm guessing that as you learn, there are times that you fall off? Do you have any strategies that you use to 'get back up and try again'- I imagine that the thought of falling again may make it tricky?
