Have you ever heard or done Code Avengers?

Well the past week we have been doing it for our online work. Code avengers is a website that has projects that you can do and earn badges and certificates throughout the projects. You learn about algorithms and flowcharts. Do you know what algorithms and flowcharts are? In the projects it is broken into 10 sections. You have to sign into Code Avengers but it is fun. Some of the tasks are easy others aren't. You and your teacher can see you progress. You ca have a look at some pictures Below 👇

This week in writing we have been doing some new things. The thing that we were doing is we had to watch a video on this site called THE LITERACY SHED. It has heaps of different prompts or videos. The videos we had to watch were Catch it, Ruin and High Diving Giraffes. Catch It was about 7 or so meerkats that had a fruit they kept in mind. Ruin was about the world when it had ended (It reminded me of the movie series the maze runner). High diving giraffes was about diving giraffes if you didn't already guess from the title. After we watched the videos we could choose what kind of response we did to the video. There were three options that you could choose from. The ones I did were

Catch It: What the meerkats were thinking during the short film Catch It.

Ruin: A character profile.

High Diving Giraffes: Write a news report about the diving giraffes.

I enjoyed these tasks because you could choose from different options. Some of the responses I was a bit creative and I put my own twist on it. you can check this all out below👇 Blog ya later

Happy Tongan language week

In writing this week we have been focusing on food. Healthy food in particular. But this task I am going to show is different it is more art. We had to create a creature from our own names and write a description all about it. Then we made a holiday brochure that makes the reader come visit your pretend place. I drew my own name creature on baking paper as you will see it suggested on the first slide. The second slide is my one that you can have a look at. Some things about my place is that it is a planet called Star Village. The planet is famous for its singers, Food forest and beds ( they like their sleep ). Take a look at the slides below👇

As you all know NZ is either in level 3 or 4. What level are you in? Have you done anything fun during your lockdown. Did you know that this is NZ 5th lockdown! I hope all of you stay safe, stay kind, Stay calm and Stay Home. We can get through this 5th lockdown NZ. Here are some ideas for you when you get bored.

* Read a book

* Bake something

* Have a movie night

* Have a games night

* Find a video of how to make something

My Reading DLO About Anna Grimaldi

Do you know who Anna Grimaldi is? It's ok if you don't know who Anna is, you will learn about her in this blog post. As you all know NZ is in another lockdown and I will be sharing what I learnt about Anna during this lockdown. Anna is a Paralympian in the Paralympics this year. Have you been watching any of the Paralympics? So far in the Paralympic NZ have 10 medals. 4 gold 3 silver and 3 bronze medals. On September 3rd on DUKE 12:35 (tonight) Anna Grimaldi will be competing in Athletics. You can watch it on DUKE on TVNZ or on TV. Anna is 24 as you will read in the DLO that I made. I got my information from different sites like google and I have linked them at the bottom of the page. I got my images from google as well. Check out my other blogs and comment on my blog if you can.

NZ in the olympics

 Olympic reading! 

In reading the past three or so weeks we have been learning about the Olympics. The task was to make a great DLO about either What makes up the important features of the Summer Olympic Games? How have the Olympic Games changed from the Ancient Games to the Modern Games to the Present Day Games? What is happening for NZ at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021? I chose to do the what is happening for NZ at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. I wrote about the medals that NZ got. Also about the different people that got the medals. Even if they are in teams like in the rowing. If it was a team I would put them all together. Also we have been taking books home about sports. In one of my books I learnt about triathlons. To get the information that I got was from google and also we collected some information from the school journals.

Olympics inquiry

 What I have learnt about the Olympics🥇🥈🥉🏆

This past two weeks we have been learning a lot about the Olympics. Have you been watching the Olympics? I have. I found a few new sports that I like watching. Two that I like is Diving and Sport climbing. Like I said we have been doing a lot around it in school. I will be sharing some of my inquiry work around it. There are three values of the Olympics which are... Friendship, Excellence and most important of all Respect. Here is some of my Olympics work...
